We are working hard to find an alternative venue in Durham but due to the heavy demand for pool space we are unable to guarantee you a place for lessons in the Durham area for future courses.  However, we do run group lessons at Boldon School and we would be happy to guarantee places for any of our clients who would be willing to transfer to this brand 25m new pool. 

A letter is being sent to all affected clients today (July 29th 2010) with a tear off slip that we would be grateful for your urgent attention to.  In the meantime should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are thrilled to announce that the nominations are now open for the ASA Swimtastic Awards 2010.  The awards are a great way to recognise and celebrate your favourite Swim School swimming teacher by nominating them for a Top Teacher award.   Last year our very own Sarah Knowles received the Bronze in this category, and the Swim School as a whole received an Outstanding Achievement Certificate.    We would love to repeat this kind of success for 2010.

Changing the Badge system appears to have been a success, with the children enjoying immediate recognition of their success on the poolside.

Over the coming year, we will be sending out quarterly  Customer Satisfaction Questionnaires to a few randomly picked clients to find out if we do meet the needs of the clients/children and families we teach.  We do feel we are approachable so please feel free to ring or e-mail if you have any worries or concerns. We will do our best to put things right.

It’s with sadness we said goodbye to Craig earlier this year, we were fortunate to have such an enthusiastic teacher and we appreciated his wealth of knowledge on his subject.

Amber Bonshor (Durham) leaves us in June, to go to America for the experience of the summer camps. Amber is one of the top fifteen Butterfly swimmers in the country, and is working towards the 2012 Olympics.  She is dedicated to swimming and we will watch her progress over the coming two years and wish her well.

Linda Dodds joined us a few weeks ago and is already finding her feet at Gosforth. She is also a Mum and is studying at University.

Will, who has been with us since the start of the swim school is still teaching at Durham. He now leads the Swim a song for babies aged 4montht – 2yrs at the Novotel on Thursday mornings.  This is becoming increasingly popular and booking is now essential.

The school was delighted to get Aileen back after her trip to Australia last Christmas. She now leads the group lessons at Aykley Heads in Durham, while continuing to teach at Gosforth.

We have the last few spaces available for our adult only sessions at the Novotel, beginning May 25^th.  Please call to book.

As you are aware, we finally moved to Wingrove House in Newcastle amid unbelievable stress and a Police presence, following the previous landlord denying us access to our office, computers etc.  We are now at peace in the new office.  The move has proved to be a good investment and we seem to be going from strength to strength.   We now have a new Administrator in the office, Liz Czuprynksi.  Liz will be working Monday,  Tuesday  and Friday, 9.30am -2.30pm.  She brings a wealth of experience in customer care and administration from Procter and Gamble and the NHS.

Anne will be reducing her hours over the summer to return to retirement and hopefully restart her own studies, following hip and knee surgery due to take place in the autumn.

We are currently working with four potential new venues in Newcastle and South Tyneside.  This development has the potential to double the availability of swimming lessons from the Swim School.
