Sandra Turney
My name is Sandra Turney and I am proud to be the Director of this Swim School. I am very proud of all my team members and of the service we offer.
I first qualified to teach swimming in 1993 at aged 18, having completed my preliminary teachers certificate at 16, and the preliminary teachers certificate for teaching swimming to the disabled at 17. I spent several years teaching swimming for Gosforth Amateur Swimming Club, before moving on to work at various pools, including Gosforth, Jesmond and Ponteland, all in Newcastle upon Tyne.
After university I worked for Procter & Gamble for 5 years before becoming a mum. I returned to teaching swimming in 2006 and recognised the huge demand for high quality swimming . I set up the Swim School in September in 2007 and hope to expand into more pools in the near future. I live in Kingston Park with my husband Mark, children Hannah (7) and Matthew (6), and a collection of pets.
